DictionaryLookup provides free, instant word definitions with phonetics, examples, synonyms, and antonyms for English words. Data from the Free Dictionary API.

When you look up a word, the site asks the Free Dictionary API (api.dictionaryapi.dev), an open project built on Wiktionary data. If that service is slow or down, it falls back to the Wiktionary REST API, and the entry shows a link to its source. Results are cached for 24 hours (6 hours for fallback entries), so a word looked up recently loads instantly.

Each entry lists parts of speech, numbered definitions, example sentences, synonyms and antonyms where the source has them, plus a phonetic spelling and audio pronunciation when available. You can also browse words A to Z, read the word of the day or check anagrams with the word tools.
